Replay of Yesterday's Q&A
Yesterday was one of my favorite Q&As we've done.
Thank you to everyone who showed up live. And a huge thank you to Erika Shershun for giving us her time, her expertise, and three tools we can actually use.
Here's what she walked us through, in case you want to hold onto it:
1. The 5-minute grounding, orienting and breathing sequence. Erika explained why the order matters so much, especially if you're someone who freezes in the moment. That freeze isn't you being weak or checked out. It's your body doing exactly what it learned to do. This sequence gives it a way back.
2. The self-compassion exercise. This one is for those of you who take the emotions coming at you personally. If you've ever absorbed his mood like it was a verdict on who you are, this is your tool. I loved it.
3. The daily regulation practice. Not for the crisis moment. For building a baseline so the crisis moments have less to grab onto.
All three of these slot right into the P in P.A.U.S.E. Pausing isn't just stopping. It's giving your body something to do while you're stopped. Now you have three options.
Want more? Erika has the first chapter of her book available to download on her site, and it goes deeper on these tools:

And if something came up for you during the somatic work yesterday, that's not a sign you did it wrong. That's the body finally getting a word in. Be gentle with yourself this week.
